DJ SoniQ

For Dipeolu, Oluseyi Anuoluwa, better known as dj SoniQ, Music has always been a passion. Growing up in Lagos city as the 1st child with 2 siblings,  you would never have thought of DJing  as the end game. After meeting up with the likes of dj Slim and dj Spinall, dj SoniQ officially introduced the stage name in 2006 while studying for his Engineering Degree.

Currently the Resident DJ at Rhapsodys Lounge, Victoria Island, Lagos. SoniQ had a humble start playing house and school club parties, and grew into facilitating night club start-ups like M-Coast club (Martinos, Ikeja) and the Red Lounge Night club.

Notable performances and appearances include handling M.I., w4, Classic DJs Event 2012 & 2013, Trace Urban Launch Lagos, Opening for the Nigerian Acts at the 2013 Chris Brown concert to name a few. Huge crowd turn-outs all the way with crowds having fun and dancing to great music like never seen before in all of West Africa.

SoniQ plays in a hard dance mix / club style due to his love for the club scene which he set sights as the major target in the industry. Don’t be deceived though, when the real Hip-hop feel needs to show up, sub-woofers will tell the story. Always open to trying out new tracks, mixes, styles, you name it, he’s influenced by a wide range of music genres, musicians, & djs from as far as jazz , Reggae, Hiphop to the classics. Constantly listening to other great DJs, partnering and working with the best in the industry. He’s your favourite DJ’s DJ, as a result currently works with dj Xclusive of CoolFm & EME Music.

While SoniQ is generally tame, once the beats, headphones & Mic come on, it’s a different ball game!

Don’t be surprised to hear underground remixes of your favourite music with Dj SoniQ’s tagline because he’s very much interested in creating his unique tracks. Its still an in-house thing, freestyles & rehearsals before hitting the streets with producers that have the Midas touch. One thing is for sure, when SoniQ turns up, the party tempo follows suit.
